Frequently asked questions
Will you only recommend the Hazard Hub© platform?
No, our advice is independent. Hazard Hub© is one option we're well placed to advise on, and it's a strong fit for many businesses, but our recommendation is based on your actual needs.
We already have HSE software that isn't working well. Can you help?
Yes, this is a common engagement. We assess why adoption is low and help restructure the rollout, training and configuration.
Do you provide hands-on training for our team?
Yes, structured training and change-management support is part of a full implementation engagement.
How do you decide whether a business needs dedicated HSE software or can manage with the Hazard Hub© platform?
We assess the volume of compliance data, the number of sites, the complexity of the operation, and the client/reporting requirements. A single-site business with 50 employees may be well served by the Hazard Hub© platform's built-in risk assessment, audit, training and document management tools. A multi-site operation with 2,000 employees, ISO 45001 certification, and OEM client audit requirements may need a more comprehensive EHS platform with API integration. Our recommendation is based on what will actually be used and maintained, not on what is most expensive.
What is the most common reason HSE software implementations fail?
In our experience, it is not the software — it is the implementation. The most common failure pattern is: the system is purchased by senior management, configured by an IT team without HSE input, and rolled out to users with a one-hour training session and no change-management support. The result is a system that nobody uses, that generates no data, and that is abandoned within 18 months. We structure implementations around the HSE function's actual workflows, pilot with a small group, iterate based on real usage, and only scale once the pilot group is using the system effectively.
Can you help us integrate HSE software with our existing HR or ERP system?
Yes. We advise on integration architecture, data-mapping between systems (e.g. matching employee records between HR and the HSE training matrix), and the data-governance rules that prevent the compliance gaps that poor integration creates — like an employee who has left but is still listed as a safety representative in the HSE system.

Practitioner's insight
We have seen businesses spend hundreds of thousands of rand on enterprise EHS platforms that are less effective than a well-structured spreadsheet, because the implementation was driven by IT procurement rather than by the HSE function's actual needs. The question is not 'what software is best' but 'what will your people actually use to manage compliance on a Tuesday morning'. We also see the reverse problem: businesses managing complex compliance obligations on paper or in disconnected spreadsheets, where a single missed expiry date or an outdated risk assessment creates legal exposure that a basic digital system would have flagged automatically. The right answer is operation-specific, and our independence — we do not resell any software — means our recommendation is based on fit, not commission.
